Maroon 5 Brings the Party to Dolby Live (Park MGM)

As Las Vegas continues its reign as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Adam Levine and Maroon 5 kicked off their 2024 residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in true celebratory fashion. From the Moment they took stage, it was clear this wasn’t going to be another night at a concert hall. The Vibe was typical Vegas – big, bold and glamours. The energy vibrated as they walked out, and the screams echoed.

The production spread at no expense, with a massive, curved video screen, dynamic lighting and even pyrotechnics punctuating the bigger hit. But it was the band’s signature energy and showmanship that really created the party atmosphere.

Levine was a dynamic frontman, constantly moving and engaging the audience. His vocals sounded strong, easily recreating those signature falsettos on songs like “She Will be Loved” and “Makes me Wonder”.

The rest of the band was supremely tight, laying down funky grooves with guitarist James Valentine frequently stepping into the spotlight. The setlist was a crowd-pleasing mix tailored for Vegas like “Moves like Jagger”, “Sugar” and “This Love,” kept the area bouncing, blended with some deeper cuts and unexpected covers for diehard fans. Highlights included an acoustic guitar break during “Payphone” and a showstopping rendition of “Maps” that featured Levine’s powerful pipes on full display. This high energy performance that shows Maroon 5 prowess as an arena rocking live acts all these years later.

With its grand scale production values coupled with the group’s undiminished energy, Marron 5 residency was a prototypical Vegas spectacle. Judging by the enthusiasm of the Sin City crowd losing themselves in the music their residency should be one hot ticket in 2024.

In a town where marquee residencies have become the new normal, Maroon 5 proved once again that they deserve top billing among the endless stream of A-list acts performing on the Strip. It’s shows like these that cement Las Vegas status as the capital for blockbuster live entertainment.
